People often ask me, “What do you actually do all day?” My honest answer: sleep, eat, and work. OK, I sleep and eat the most 😉
But seriously, most of my time goes into my latest project: Identiqa. Let me tell you how we went from a simple idea to launching a cybersecurity company.
The Problem That Started Everything
About two years ago, my team and I faced a frustrating reality. We had countless cloud apps, each with its own login, each requiring separate management. When an employee left, we’d have to change passwords across dozens of platforms. It was insane.
We needed something centralized. Something flexible. Something that actually worked the way we wanted it to.
Why Not Just Buy Something?
You might ask: “Why not use Okta or an open source solution?” Fair question. We looked at everything available, and honestly, none met our requirements 100%. Maybe that’s normal, but you face a choice: build something or buy something. Customization usually isn’t really an option.
Plus, we had big ideas. We wanted smart 2FA. Comprehensive logging. Real-time evaluation. AI integration. And above all—the IT expert’s eternal dream—we wanted to control everything with one click.
So we built it ourselves.
From Tool to Platform
What started as an internal SSO solution became much more interesting over time. After implementing Identiqa in our first customer projects, we kept asking: “What else could this do?”
The ideas kept flowing. At some point, we realized we weren’t just building a login tool—we were creating a complete security platform. One with innovative products and, critically, simple integration.
Going All In
Fast forward two years: Identiqa is ready for its first public stages. A few days ago, I founded our first Delaware corporation. Why a corporation? Because we’re serious about raising capital. We want to give investors and employees the opportunity to hold actual shares in what we’re building.
The company launches soon, and we’ll take it from there. I’ll keep you updated on our progress here, but you can also follow our dedicated channels: Identiqa Pulse and the Dev (B)Log—designed specifically for professionals and developers who want the technical details.
See It for Yourself
The best part? You don’t have to wait. Identiqa is already live and you can experience it yourself: www.identiqa.com/preview
Building vs. Buying: Lessons Learned
This journey taught me something important about innovation in cybersecurity. Sometimes the solution you need doesn’t exist yet—not because the market is immature, but because your vision is different.
We didn’t set out to build a company. We set out to solve a problem that was driving us crazy every single day. The company emerged because the solution turned out to be bigger than our original problem.
That’s how real innovation happens in cybersecurity: not in boardrooms planning the next big thing, but in server rooms by people who are tired of the current thing not working.
What everyday frustrations in your work could become tomorrow’s breakthrough solutions? Sometimes the best innovations start with someone saying, “There has to be a better way.”
